My everyday skin routine for oily/combination skin

I have had quite the journey with my oily/ combination skin, that is often prone to breakouts and I’ve finally found an everyday routine that works for me.

I spent a lot of time researching the best skincare for oily skin, mostly via google but also reading blog or Youtube reviews and now I finally have it figured out. I still get the odd hormonal break out because I mean, who has perfect skin all the time but I find these are few and far between. My skin is glowing, less oily and really healthy. These are all the products I use on the daily.

I tend to double cleanse when I have worn make up, i.e. using two cleansers but if it’s been a no make up day, I alternate between these two.

I use Caudelie Instant Foaming Cleanser first to remove the make up and then I use Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water for oily skin. When cleansing I use a muslin cloth from Facetheory* for the foaming cleanser and then reusable cotton pads for the micellar water.

Next I either exfoliate my skin with Grums raw espresso face scrub* or Pixi Retinol tonic depending on how badly my skin needs exfoliating and I only exfoliate 2-3 times a week maximum.

I use something anti-aging like the Facetheory Reganacalm serum * with 2% retinol. I love all the other natural ingredients like dill and liquorice which gives it this lovely scent as well reduces fine lines and boosts the production of collagen. I use this twice a week

I use a few of The Ordinary products starting with The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc 1% in the morning and before bed and this stuff has genuinely changed my life. Niacinamide really helps with acne as well as minimising pores and keeping the skin smooth and moisturised.

I also use their Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and their Caffeine solution under my eyes 3-4 times a week.

As my skin is oily and the niacinamide and hylaluronic is often all the moisturising I need. I only moisturise my face 2 times a week maximum when I do, I use Sukin’s oil free moisturiser it’s moisturising but doesn’t leave me skin drenched and is specifically for blemish prone skin

Face Mask

Once a week I will give my skin a much needed face mask. I’ve recently been using Facetheory’s Green Tea Rescue Mask * which is just feels gorgeous on my skin. I’ve really seen difference in how my skin looks and it is visibly glowing for days.
